APPLY FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The David Morgan Music Trust board invites applications from children or young people aged 4 to 21 (or their representatives) who would like financial support for:

Individual or group music or singing lessons, perhaps in a school

An instrument or related purchase

A contribution towards hosting a concert or music event
We’re particularly keen to receive applications from music educationalists wishing to set up projects, orchestras or choirs involving large numbers of children.

Who can apply for financial support?
Schools and colleges
Schools and colleges can apply directly to us for projects in schools, such as whole class instrumental teaching, purchase of instruments, and to facilitate special events, for example inviting musicians to inspire and educate them in their musical journeys.
We work strategically with schools, ensuring there is provision for children to continue lessons if they wish to. For example, after a year of learning an instrument in a class, pupils and students are able to move to smaller group lessons.
We are also experienced in recognising that children have different levels of need at specific times in their lives, and we endeavour to accommodate this.
Parents and carers
Parents and carers can apply to us for individual lessons that their children may be having outside the school provision.
We recognise that parents’ and carers’ financial circumstances may change, and for a while some extra financial support is needed.
How to apply
To apply for financial support, you need to submit our online form. Please complete the form fully to prevent any delays with your application.
The deadline for the next round of applications is Monday 24th November 2025. Applications received after this date will be considered at the next board meeting.
Kindly note, no other application method will be considered.

What happens next?

All applications are considered by the board at their quarterly meetings, and you will receive an email advising whether you have been successful or not.
Outcomes for the next round of applications will be received no later than Friday 12th December 2025.
Regrettably, as a small charity, we are unable to award financial support to all applicants. If you are unsuccessful, we encourage you to reapply. Your application will be considered at the next quarterly board meeting.
