OUR HISTORY
The David Morgan Music Trust is a charity created in memory of the late David Morgan, a lover of music and his hometown of Bromsgrove.
About David Morgan

Born in 1922 in Barry, South Wales, David’s father was a coal industry clerk, and his mother studied at the Royal College of Music. She later became an accomplished pianist and tutor.
David left Barry to study in Birmingham. He went on to forge a career teaching English, history and music and he was greatly involved with training school choirs. In his spare time, he played piano. He particularly enjoyed the works of Bach, Mendelssohn and Schubert.
He retired from teaching in 1978 and was a Bromsgrove District Councillor for around 16 years, making a positive difference to those living in and around his beloved town.
He was a keen supporter of choral societies in Bromsgrove and neighbouring Barnt Green, and he participated in the Bromsgrove Festival for several years. The trust remains involved in the festival, providing opportunities for young people to perform through the Players’ Platform.
In addition to his music interests, David was a keen supporter of Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club.
David died in December 2001, but his passion for educating children lives on through the work we’re so proud to do.
