SUPPORT OUR WORK

The late David Morgan generously left funds in a trust to continue the music education of children in the Bromsgrove area but, with Government support for arts education continuing to be limited and demand for our grants increasing, we always welcome additional income to help sustain our cause.

Why support the David Morgan Music Trust?

Through allocating financial support, our charity makes music accessible to children and young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the joy of learning to sing or play an instrument.

We really appreciate the support. Our son has ADHD, and his music is the one thing that he really enjoys doing and is a stable in his routine.

I’m grateful my daughter has the opportunity to do something she enjoys which she would not have been able to do without the support of this grant. She looks forward to her lesson every week.

How can music help children?

My name is Alexa Young

Music is highly beneficial for children. It enhances brain activity during the critical stages of development, helping them develop their cognitive, physical, and emotional skills.

It’s widely reported that music can improve:

  • Cognitive skills such as memory, creativity, concentration and problem solving

  • Physical skills such as fine motor skills, breath management and coordination

  • Emotional skills such as how to express themselves, discipline, perseverance, a sense of achievement and self-esteem

Furthermore, playing in a group can encourage children to learn social skills, teamwork and communication.

All of the above can positively influence academic achievements and contribute to a child’s overall wellbeing while embedding skills that will be useful later in life.

The David Morgan Music Trust is proud to contribute to nurturing young local musical talent and preserving music for future generations.

You can support our charity by donating money or raising funds. Every penny raised will help us unlock the potential of more talented local children and young people.

To donate money, please contact us.

There are many ways you can fundraise for us, and often these activities also raise awareness of our charity, which is a valuable added benefit.

Some fundraising ideas

My name is Alexa Young

  • In the workplace – cook up some tasty treats and hold a bake sale with colleagues, host a fun office fancy dress day, or choose to support us as your charity of the year

  • Get active - set yourself a physical challenge such as a swim, run, marathon or trek. You could team up with friends and family and support each other

  • A fun evening in - gather friends and family for an intriguing murder mystery night, a music-themed party or dinner, or a quiz night to see which team will be crowned the winners

  • Declutter and raise money – sell unwanted items online or at car boot sales and donate the proceeds to our trust
